3AW live broadcast from the Alfred
Friday 02 Sep 2016
This year the Alfred’s Father’s Day Appeal celebrates its 16th year raising awareness of men’s health and helping to raise vital funds for the Alfred hospital.
The appeal kicked off today with a healthy breakfast for staff generously supported by Eli Dannaoui of The Alfred Café. Presenting sponsor Bulla provided delicious yogurts and Carman’s muesli helped to fuel staff members for another day at the office. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and staff, patients and visitors were encouraged to take some time to enjoy their breakfast and watch the 3AW talent in action, live from the Alfred’s retail precinct.
Every year 3AW broadcast from the Alfred over the Father’s Day weekend helping to promote the appeal. This is a wonderful opportunity for all those who are connected to the Alfred to gather together. It gives medical and administration staff, patients and visitors the opportunity to see their favourite radio personality ‘up close and personal’ interviewing guests from all walks of life. Listeners could tune in to hear Alfred clinicians and some of the current and former Alfred patients on air, sharing their inspiring stories and talking about the lifesaving work performed at the Alfred every day.
Throughout the appeal the Alfred is encouraging all men to become ‘Healthy Heroes’ by taking responsibility for their health and adopting a healthy lifestyle whilst reducing preventable health risks.
Join the conversation about men's health and support the #fathersdayappeal for the Alfred.
The Alfred would like to thank all of the wonderful people who contributed their time and support in helping to make this appeal so special.
Congratulations to the winner of Father’s Day Breakfast raffle – Maree Avery. Maree and her husband will enjoy breakfast in the Melba Restaurant at The Langham.
